cat sitters colorado springs
PlayTime Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers is proud to be one of most trusted cat sitters in Colorado Springs. We get requests daily for cat sitting visits, even overnight stays! Occasionally we will get a call from a client requesting a cat sitter who will do visits every few days, or once a week. However, PlayTime Pet Sitters & Dog Walkers has developed a standard of care that we feel respects and values animals and their health, and therefore, we require that cats get at least one visit every other day. Over 20 years as a reputable and respected pet sitting business has taught us a few things about our feline friends:

Contrary to popular belief, cats ARE social animals. While they may not be greeting you at the door with a wagging tail, they do enjoy the companionship of their human servants (US!) Visiting regularly assures them that they are not alone while you are away, and provides the mental stimulation they crave. Also, cats are creatures of habit, and do not respond well to changes to their routine. By having a dedicated and regular cat sitter come, they continue the feeding and play routine that they are accustomed to.

Cats were born to play! Strings, feathers, hair ties…you name it, a cat will find it…and it becomes prey. Every other day visits ensure that your kitty hasn’t ingested anything harmful, and that they are allowed to play safely, under the supervision of their adoring pet sitter. If they don’t have something (or someone) to occupy their time with, they will go looking for something to do. This can lead to upended water bowls, getting themselves locked in closets and discovering items that are not cat toy friendly. An upended water bowl or malfunctioning automated dispensers can lead to a kitty without food or water.

Cats are very hygienic animals and their litter box needs to be cleaned regularly. If a litter box is not up their standard, cats may spray in the house, which is something no home owner wants to come home to.  There is also an array of medical conditions that can arise when a litter box is not kept in sanitary conditions.

Health is a concern for our cat friends. Having a cat sitter visit regularly allows you to prevent most potential problems because we monitor their eating, drinking and elimination habits. If you have a male cat, it is especially important to monitor these things. They are prone to urethra blockages and if a cat is having trouble urinating, it is often life threatening crucial situation.

We always plan for emergencies at PlayTime Pet Sitters and Dog Walkers, but we can ONLY prevent an emergency if we are able to monitor your pet on a regular basis. We whole heartedly enjoy keeping your pets loved, healthy, and safe while you are away!
